Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect compromise of quality and value Comment: I'm sure there are those who would be able to taste a difference between these glasses and the Reidel (same company, different line of stemware), but I can't! The glasses have a nice feel, a reasonably delicate rim, and don't self destruct in the dishwasher - which is delightful when you're throwing a dinner party, and don't feel like washing glasses all night. These are not cheap - you can certainly find less expensive flutes out there, but they look and feel like quality stemware, and at a great price! I ordered these with some trepidation, based on reviews noting a "bulge." I am happy to say that the glasses contained no visible flaws. All other stemware I've purchased by Spiegelau has been beautiful but all 6 in my set also had slight imperfections, buldges, and an odd thickness where the stem meets the bowl. Maybe one could see this as "character". If you want these glasses to match a set, shop around.... Customer Rating: Summary: Poor quality control Comment: All 6 of of the glasses in my set were at least slightly misshapen, one was positively a mutant! The stems were not centered, and there were, for lack of a better description, glass tumors where the bowls meet the stems. The glasses were also thicker than I expected from Spiegalau. Editorial Reviews: These are the champagne flutes you'll want to have handy for every occasion or spontaneous celebration. Their shape enhances the aromas, flavors, and sparkle of the champagne. They are durable, dishwasher-safe, and retain their clarity well. And they're color-stable for guaranteed brilliance. The only thing missing with these flutes is the bubbly. --Marcela Broussard
