Comment: Bought one of these in Austria 15 years ago. I use it daily and it is still as sharp as when it was new. Wanted one for my daughter and looked online to see if the same model was available. It was! It makes awesomely thin slices, small dices, and great matchsticks. I just love it.

Comment: Nothing like taking longer to peel and de-stem cucumbers than to actually slice them! I've never used a mandoline before but I can't imagine how this one could be improved. I can't wait to play with this some more.

Comment: First mandolin we've ever owned. Actually I bought it for my husband, who loves to cook. He's had it about 4 days and used it to cook 3 meals already. He loves everything about it, except the safety holder. It's not big enough, he tried to slice a vidalia onion in it and had to cut it in quarters to fit. Of course, it's very sharp and you need to be careful. But he did let our 10 year old, shred lettuce for tacos. This is a must have for you if you like(love) to cook.

Comment: It works GREAT. Plain and simple, this thing will cut through any veggie like butter. The hand guard is very comfortable to grip and keeps your hand very safely away from that sharp cutting blade. I've used it every day since I bought it and even my teenage son is getting into using it. We've made sliced cucumbers, french fries, potato sticks, and potato chips. All were cut REALLY fast and clean up was a snap. Just rinse in water, put it back in the caddy, stand it on the counter and let it drip dry. As long as you use the hand guard, you won't cut yourself. Don't be scared by reviewers who cut their fingers. They clearly didn't use the hand guard. I can see this quickly becoming the most-used tool in our kitchen.
