Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Awesome quality, heavy weight, beautiful shape Comment: My husband and I registered for and recieved 2 53-piece flatware sets of Oneida Camlynn flatware. Until I got married, I had mis-matched hand-me-down silverware left over from college. Opening my drawer to see this beautiful set nicely arranged is a great feeling. My husband thinks the pieces are too heavy, but I like that they are heavy-duty and not at all flimsy. The extra teaspoons come in handy, as we started with only one set. I like having two sets because we have people over a lot. The pieces are great, and very modern and beautiful. I would buy them again and again. Customer Rating: Summary: Not what I expected. Comment: When the flatware arrived, it seemed different than in the pictures, it looks a bit cheaper. The quality is great, just as I expected, but the contrast between polished and brushed is just, well, kind of cheap-looking to me. Pros: +Price. +Quality +Different utensils. Cons: -I don't like the polished/brushed contrast. Customer Rating: Summary: For the price this can't be beat Comment: I purchased this set from Amazon over 6 months ago and cannot be more pleased. This set replaced a 30 plus year old Oneida set my wife & I got when we were married. The pattern had since been discontinued but the new set did match it close. The only problem with the old set was we lost 4 of the original 8 spoons. That old set is still perfect so we moved it to our camper. What I liked about this set was the extra spoons, now we have plenty. The set also comes with dinner forks and salad forks that really made this set come with 8 extra forks too. Let me explain; the dinner works are huge, which I love. This makes the salad works normal dinner size, which my wife uses as dinner forks. So I look at it as extra forks. Customer Rating: Summary: Looks nice but WAY too delicate! Comment: A very attractive set and a nice quantity for the price. I had problems with the durability of the pieces, though. I merely washed the set as I took it out of the box and some knife pieces showed spots of rust. I didn't even get to use it and it was back in the box for a return. The instructions state how to care for the flatware; don't let the pieces sit in water, don't let foods stay on the pieces too long before washing, be cautious of the detergent used, don't let them air dry as that can cause rust, remove from the dishwasher when the cycle is finished. In my case I simply had to let them air dry for a short while because I had company in the house. As I said it looks pretty, but it really loses out because it's simply not a functional set and it is inconvenient when one has to pay so much attention to caring for one's flatware. I don't really want to wash and dry each piece immediatly after using it. I remember seeing many a house where flatware was left in the sink with the dishes for quite a while before any one got to it. Just a little toughness is all I ask. I also noticed as I shopped in stores that the frosted parts of flatware are very prone to scratching. It's too bad. I'll be looking for something more durable. Customer Rating: Summary: Disappointed with knives Comment: My mother looked for a long time to replace her existing set, and fell in love with the Camlynn pattern. After about a month, just about all the knives started to show rust spots in the groove. It was not the dishwasher detergent that was the problem. She does have hard water, but that does not explain the rust. She was brokenhearted, but returned the set for a refund. More Reviews
