Don't take that to mean they're shoddily crafted - I was rather abusive to my first. My favorite feature is the locking hinge for broiling. My chicken breasts are always juicy, never dry. Customer Rating: Summary: Love this product, wished it would last Comment: I've had this grill for about 8months before it short circuited on me and stopped working. When it did work however i used it daily and granted you didnt have the control of a real grill but it was well suited in my opinion to heat up breads, pitas, any kind of baked goods. With meat and poultry, the food would tend to get a little bit too burned if you put both sides of the heating element directly on the food so i would suggest using the "g-broil" where you leave the food sitting on one heating surface while the top plate just floats above the food.
