Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Finally!!! Comment: I have never had a double boiler...I always used 2 pots, or was lazy and used one pot over very low heat! There would always be stuff in the "corner" that my whisk or spoon would miss, which would get lumpy &/or overcooked. The last couple of times I made chocolates without a DB the sauce was perfectly smooth until I added sugar...and oh! it turned into horrible grainy "dough"!!! I pretended I had meant to make fudge, and it was salvaged. So...I LOVE this! Buying a traditional DB would mean spending about $40 to buy 2 more pots, possibly of dubious quality. I already have plenty of great pots, and very little cupboard space. I looked at a couple of others similar to this design, but they didn't have handles--?!? Anyway, this doesn't quite work with my medium pots but actually works with my smallest (1qt, 6" across & only 2-1/2" deep) and larger ones--the handle and the hook opposite the handle means you can rest this across quite a large pot, and the hook means I can hang it on the wall; so, no lost cupboard space. You won't be able to rest it on the counter because of the rounded bottom, but you could rest it across a bowl if you want to take it out of the hot water, and the rounded bottom means you get every little bit when you stir! (I started using a silicone whisk about a year ago, and they are awesome!) So, no burned smears, and very, very easy to clean. I saw this on other sites for at least $5 more plus more expensive shipping. I highly recommend this! More Reviews
