Comment: I've ordered 2, one as a gift. It looks great, although be aware that the wood color/shade will vary. One had lighter looking wood than in the picture above--more ordinary. The cracker fits very securely inside. I haven't used mine but plan to keep it full of small nuts like pistachos and may not use the cracker. I should think other smaller nuts like hazelnuts would fit best but don't know how they'd crack or wear on the cracker. It's still a useful gift.

Summary: DON'T BUY THIS NUTCRACKER IF YOU ARE TRYING TO CRACK ALMONDS
Comment: AFTER ONLY 10-12 ALMONDS THE HANDLES BEGAN TO DEFORM AND ONE COULD NOT USE THE NUTCRACKER ANYMORE. I RETURNED IT TO AMAZON AND ALTHOUGH IT MAY WORK WELL WITH OTHER NUTS, I DECIDED AGAINST GETTING A REPLACEMENT.

Comment: This is just what I fondly remembered being around our house during the winter months. The wooden bowl is ample in size and good quality. The nutcracker is sturdy and easy to grip and crack the nuts. The holder slots on bowl make it very accessible. This product is also reasonably priced.
