Summary: Great Flatware Set
Comment: Have been extremely happy with this set. Read one of the reviews in reference to rust appearing on the pieces after placing in the dishwasher. I had the same problem with a much more expensive set only to find the rack in the dishwasher had rust on one of the wires. However, after many times through the dishwasher, I have not had any problems with this set.
It is elegant enough to use for a formal dinner party yet simple enough for everyday use. The pieces are heavy! And the extra serving pieces that come with it are wonderful. I don't think you can find a better set for the price. I would highly recommend this set.

Summary: Excellent Flatware
Comment: This flatware set was way more than I expected for the price. We received a 5 piece Oneida flatware place setting as a gift for our wedding from Bed Bath and Beyond. You read that right, only 5 pieces (dinner fork, salad fork, butter knife, big and little spoons). The price was 50.00, so in order to fulfill enough for 8 people it would cost me over 400.00. I decided to return that as fast as I could and put that money towards this set from Reed and Barton. I couldn't have been more satisfied. This set comes with enough to serve 12 people, the design is perfect and can be used both as formal flatware or everyday flatware. The weight is perfect with an excellent balance and feeling during use. The 12 piece place setting for the price was deal enough, not to mention the serving set that comes with it which blew me away. Overall, I highly recommend anyone interested in a new set of flatware to jump all over this deal.

Summary: Incredible Value for the Money!
Comment: I absolutely love this flatware. It is heavy, beautiful and very well-made. I expected high quality due to the Reed & Barton name, and I was not disappointed. It's difficult to believe that Amazon is selling this set at just over a dollar per piece. I must admit that I kinda freaked out when I opened the 2 knife boxes; I thought they had made a mistake and sent me 24 dinner knives. Upon closer inspection I noticed that one set of knives has rounded blades and the other has pointed blades. The pointed ones are the steak knives! They are gorgeous, they cut better than any black or wood-handled steak knife I've ever owned and they give the table a look of continuity.
I also really like the fact that the Reed & Barton name is in raised lettering on the back of each piece (it's lasered on the knives). Minor drawback; it's hard to open the flatware drawer now due to the weight, but I just consider that another indication of the quality. I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT.

Comment: Got this set to replace my Oneida flatware, which was 8 years old and rusty. These pieces are substantial, beautiful, and it's a complete set of everything you could possibly need. The soup spoons and steak knives are great, and my husband loves the iced tea spoons.
When I got it, I inspected every single piece to make sure the pattern was the same on every one (I had read some reviews that said the pattern was missing on some pieces). My set was perfect, all 112 pieces!
I threw out everything else in the drawer and am using this flatware every day. It makes a lovely table setting, and it washes well in the dishwasher. What else could you ask for? I expect to use this set for a very long time.

Summary: Beautiful set, does not rust.
Comment: I purchased this set over two years ago for everyday use. It is beautiful and sturdy. The flatware itself does not rust. Other sources in my dishwasher may occassionally cause a rust spot to appear. I just use a little Comet or Ajax (probably not recommended by the manufacturer), it removes it and does not come back. I am considering ordering another set also for those times when I need more than a service of twelve.
